This post is not sponsored and I wasn’t asked to write about it either. I just wanted to share some advice from one parent to another.
Lets talk about sleep swaddles…now I’m not going to lie, my newest addition Max isn’t sleeping through the night BUT our nights are a whole lot easier since using the Grobag Swaddles. With my first child Brock I remember laying out the wraps on the bed, trying to keep his arms tucked in, having to take the whole wrap off at every nappy change and trying to work out if he was warm enough or not.
So as I have mentioned I am on the hunt for brands that we would recommend to other parents and sorting through Instagram we have found Skittle and Mouse.
They have managed to mix the right amount of practical with a whole lot of style. Knee pads are a brilliant idea. I first ordered a pair a few months back and its definitely my go to outfit. Especially when he was between crawling and learning to walk. I was sick of him wearing holes in his clothes or coming crashing to the ground with zero padding between his little knees. The Crawlsuits are also nappy change friendly with press studs around the legs. Big tick there!
Brock is far from gentle on his clothes and his Crawlsuit is holding up fine! So if you are after a great outfit not only do they offer the Crawlsuit they have the cutest Crawl pants and Dribble bibs as well. Not just for boys they cater for your little princess too!
We highly recommend Skittle and Mouse and not only did we find a brand, we found a lovely Mum behind it all. Kat you are doing a brilliant job and your little ones are very lucky to have such easy access to great clothing pieces hehe.
Guilty, yes I am guilty of judging parents before I had a child of my own, but who isn’t? As I watched on with judgmental eyes at the crazy looking mum, hair in a mess, food on her shirt whist she wrangled her child into a headlock as he bit her arm. I thought to myself… “that will never be me, my child will be a perfect angel” I envisioned myself sitting with my perfect little man eating carrot sticks on a park bench as we threw our heads back and laughed at the other mums with their misbehaving children “hahaHa.”
Boy was I wrong!
My perfect little Pinterest bubble popped pretty quickly. I’m currently siting here writing this as I think back to the last few months. My son has just turned one and we have already implemented time out. My hair is rarely ever done, makeup? who has time for that? Oh and carrot sticks!! Thats a laugh I can hardly manage to get him to eat anything that isn’t a chip.
Brock is as feisty as they come, a tornado, my little fire cracker but don’t get me wrong he can also be the sweetest, most beautiful boy! But today I ducked from him because I thought he was going to bite me but instead he gave me a kiss. To all those parents out there that may have caught my judgmental eyes I AM SORRY! Here I was thinking that you must of done something wrong, that you raised them to hit and bite, that they must of been living off McDonalds and Coca-Cola.
The reality of it all is, children can get frustrated. Brock is a fine example. He is incredibly independent. He won’t stay still for very long and we have been quite strict with him from the start.
So if you see me wrestling my child as he repeatedly hits me in the face for taking him out of the shopping trolley and your thinking “my child will never be like that”…you never know they just might.
Life with Brock is a place for me to share my personal experiences, adventures and brands that we just can’t get enough of.
I’m a first time mum, long-term shopaholic and lover of photography. My son Brock is a beautiful boy but far from the quiet, placid child I had envisioned whilst pregnant. He is a fire cracker, a tornado and my world would be a lot cleaner without him BUT I wouldn’t change a thing.
As a family we do a lot together and I’ve had a lot of questions about some of the places we have gone from other parents regarding how “parent friendly” a place might be, which has inspired me to write about the places and include details that we think would be useful.
I will also be talking about Clothing Brands. As a mum it’s a little hard to resist a good find or a bargain at times. So I’m here to share my finds and experiences. I’m new to the Instagram world for kids and there are a whole lot of brands out there, so follow us as we sort through and discover some amazing small business’s and also share some great finds.
